Hands & Feet @ work

Hands & Feet of Jesus puts faith into action by being actively involved in community work, with current focus on a shelter in Vanderbijlpark and Aids orphans in Zamdela, Sasolburg.

The income of book sales and donations is used to provide Bibles, bread, meat, blankets and the necessities of life to the poorest of the poor.

The Lord has brought about divine appointments with
  • Pastor Thabiso Lancelord Mashiloane of the City of Love and Restoration Ministries of Zamdela, Sasolburg ; and
(please visit their website: www.clrm.co.za or contact them on info@clrm.co.za)
  • Pastor Nicholas Sihle Khumalo of Vanderbijlpark.
    (email: nckkhumalo@yahoo.com)
These pastors are the Hands and Feet of the trust in the informal settlements of Sasolburg and Vanderbijlpark. The trust provides the necessities of life as set out above to people in need and then also ministers the ‘bread of life’ to them.

We rely on Jesus as the Head of the Body and on His supervision in all we do and see Christ alone as the builder and architect of their days.

Hands & Feet of Jesus Trust is a registered welfare trust with reg. no IT 793/08(Bfn).

Appeal for donations: We welcome donations of cash or goods for there is GREAT need! A donor can even make monthly contributions by debit order – any amount is welcome.

Anyone who would like to become involved can contact us on thys@avtswan.co.za or marianaswanepoel@vodamail.co.za

Thys & Mariana

Are you born again? This slogan of Hands & Feet of Jesus is the driving force behind Thys and Mariana Swanepoel's everyday life.

Thys practices as a senior director of a law firm, A.V. Theron and Swanepoel, in Sasolburg (www.avtheron.co.za). He is married to Mariana, a qualified beauty practitioner in Sasolburg who formerly owned her own beauty salon for twenty years. She now focuses on being Jesus' Hands and Feet by doing God's work in her surrounding community. The couple lives in Vanderbijlpark and has four children - Pieter (working at a television station in Johannesburg), Karen (a dietician), Thys jr (a final year law student) and Kobus (completing grade 12). Both Thys and Mariana are trustees of Hands & Feet of Jesus with JHJ Van Rensburg the independant trustee.

Thys' testimony

People do not always realise that being born again is the only key to the kingdom of God. Without this key they become caught up in lifeless religious practice. I really believed that church attendance was the only requirement for entrance into heaven. Today I know that being born again (and not church attendance) determines eternal life. I was born again by the grace of God and not because I had earned it. Eleven years later it is still evident that this decision was no new year's resolution. I underwent a metamorphosis - a transformation - without deserving it.

God graciously recreated my spirit through rebirth and this brought about a radical change in my life.

Mariana's testimony

With the death of my only child (Melony) in August 1996, God opened a window to eternity: I realised that our lives on earth prepare us for eternal life. In my search for answers during this traumatic time, God revealed Himself to me as a God of love - Abba Father - who held me as I cried in grief. He is my provider in every sense of the word. I gave my life to Him and He totally renewed my thoughts. He gave me a new heart and because I loved Him so much I wanted to be in His perfect will for my life. He teaches me through His Spirit, gives me direction and leads me. He revealed the Sabbath to me, which we keep on Saturdays and I was baptised on 21 May 1998. This was an act in obedience to God.

I desire to please God because I love Him, I want to live as He taught us. Therefore it is my aim to live as Jesus' Hands & Feet in this world - to bring life and love. He puts the Lawgiver in me to keep the Law through me. He puts the Healer in me to Heal through me. He puts the Lover in me to Love through me.
